My First time teaching the kids... sweat haha

I have commited myself to serve in the children ministry... and last Sunday (7th May 06) is the first day that I teach the kids... preparing the materials i thought should be no prob coz we have a guideline and topic plus we can follow the fishers of kids. (but then it took me like 3 hours to do it)The problem is to think of craft or artwork for the kids to do... so i scratched my head to think of something to make out that is related to the topic for that sunday. I finally managed to do it... thank goodness... preparing the artwork is a lot of time... maybe my idea is not that good coz took too much of my time... i spend like 5 hours to just cutting the stuff (coz the kids not allowed to use scissors). Then the artwork session took too much time and when it's time for 'free time' (it's when they are allowed to play toys and stuff) someone came up and said the service is over and i was like being so cruel to take their toys away... hahaha.... hmm... the lesson i learned on the first class is that i had to learn how to keep the activities on time... (shaking heads)... but then it's fun also... i tell them stories and drew some pics to let them see and listen... and then used a puppet to teach them memory versus.... and then managed to calm Joshua from being demanding all the time... manage to make him share a biscuit with David (my helper). (was trying to make him learn how to share with others) I asked Joshua, "Can I have one of ur biscuit?'' and he keep saying no... and Rachel said that Joshua is a greedy kid... and then i asked,'Can u share one with gogo (brother) David?' and then he said no also... and i try a few more times and still the same.. so i let him go lar... after a few seconds Joshua called me... and then he point to David... Joshua gave a biscuit to David and I was sooooo happy.... I told him that it's so nice of him and such a good boy... but then later i told him "You give gogo and don't give jeje (sister)... hmm..." and he gave me a cheeky smile... He was so cute.... i can't help but smile also.
And then I was so proud to see benjamin behaving very well... he's working well with the others maybe except Joshua... hahaha... he listens to me and i'm so glad.... phew... I was doing the craft with him and his job is to put the glue and my job is to stick it... and then i need to ask him not to put too much glue... and i have to say like,"U see, too much glue like cassandra (benjamin's baby sister) saliva' and he laughs ... well we laughs... but then he didn't put too much glue after that... well at least i make him listen... but then after a few times he put purposely put a lot and told me it's cassandra's saliva ..(he's trying to be funny) and i told him 'don't tell mommy about this har...' and then we both like smile sheepishly... haiyo... hahaha... it was fun ... i guess they have some fun time... i hope...

It was good and would like to be with those kids again... but then i need to work on the timing and also try not to waste too much time on preparing the artwork but put more time on preparing the teaching material instead... hahaha... okay... that's a whole lot of grandma stories there.... cya!!!
